Fire Mitigation

One of the key aspects of our strategic approach to fire mitigation is strategic tree pruning. This involves removing dead or dry branches, as well as branches that are too close to structures. By doing so, we eliminate potential fuel sources for fires and reduce the likelihood of fire spreading through the canopy of trees.

Vegetation management is also a critical component of our fire mitigation services. We assess and manage the vegetation around properties, ensuring that there is enough space between trees and structures to prevent the spread of fire. We also remove highly flammable vegetation, such as long grasses and shrubs, and create fire breaks to further enhance the safety of communities.

Creating defensible spaces is another important aspect of our fire mitigation strategy. We work closely with homeowners and communities to create zones around structures that are specifically designed to slow down the spread of fire and provide safe areas for firefighters to work. These spaces often include fire-resistant plantings, well-maintained lawns, and appropriate distance between trees and structures.

Our arborists are trained to assess fire risks and create tailored fire mitigation plans for each property. We consider factors such as slope, prevailing winds, and proximity to fire-prone areas to develop a comprehensive strategy that minimizes the risk of bushfires.
